HH Healthy Conversation + Social:Black Minds Matter

February 29  |  7:30 – 10 PM  |  Suggested donation: $10
** No one will be turned away in all community classes **

HealHaus welcomes you to attend the tenth installment of our experimental panel series Healthy Conversation followed by a social. Panel starts at 7.30pm, followed by social at 8.30pm. Complimentary cocktails will be provided along with GT’s Kombucha, and herbal smoking blends by Dropping Seeds. Healthy Conversation is not your typical Q + A at the end, but an open dialogue amongst panelists and attendees. We encourage authenticity, curiosity, and transparency to break down stigma and address topics that would normally be considered taboo or even controversial to speak about. In light of Black History Month we dive in to Black Minds Matter moderated by the Co-Founder of HealHaus, Elisa Shankle and panelists Beatrice Dixon, Founder of The Honey Pot Co., Jacy Cunningham, Founder of the Jacy Method + Motivational Speaker, and Naiylah Warren, LMFT Therapist.

Being black in America is a very nuanced experience, and as black people we grow up equating strength to survival. Finally a shift is happening, but it has traditionally been taboo to speak about mental health. The wellness industry as a whole is often something that is not catered to black people in a way that is accessible and inclusive where we see ourselves reflected. How do we hold the industry accountable, make healing a priority in our communities, and address and reverse the toxic culture of suppression.

This is just the tip of the iceberg of what we will delve in to. Healing happens through community, and we invite you to help us shift the culture. The only prerequisite is to be yourself, respect others, and keep it 100. Online booking strongly recommended, spots are limited for panel, but anyone can show up for social!

When she was younger, Beatrice Dixon suffered with bacterial vaginosis for eight months. One night, an ancestor gave her the ingredients to heal herself in a dream. From that insightful dream, she created the formula for a healthy, clean feminine wash. In 2014, Dixon launched The Honey Pot Company, a plant-based feminine hygiene line created with a goal to provide women with a healthy alternative to feminine care that is free of chemicals, parabens, carcinogens and sulfates. The rest is history. With experience in pharmaceuticals, retail and natural foods, Dixon has the insight and expertise to bring the innovative concept of a plant-based feminine care system to the marketplace. Unlike mass market and conventional feminine care brands, consumers will be able to get all of their feminine care needs met under one brand as The Honey Pot Company currently offers feminine washes, wipes, tampons, pads, mommy-to-be products, and soon-to-be additional offerings in both the feminine hygiene and feminine care segments. Today, The Honey Pot Company’s products can be found online and in stores nationwide at Target, Walmart, Urban Outfitters, Walgreens, Bed Bath and Beyond, Wegmans and Whole Foods, among other retailers.
