Yoga + Sound: The Power of Touch

February 2  |  2:30 – 4:30 PM  |  $35

There are many elements in yoga that can add a special experience in the practice. Two of these elements in this workshop will be sound and touch.

“The power of touch” is for both teachers and open level students. We will be exploring and experiencing the value of alignment through touch in a mindful manner alongside musician pawan benjamin who will be playing the bansuri live , offering sounds of hindustani classical music.

There will be a 45-minute “Vinyasa Pulse” (rhythmic Vinyasa flow) where practitioners will experience careful hands on alignment alongside live music.

Followed by a demonstration for teachers on how to align with supportive technique, confidence and mindfulness coupled with partner participation. Lastly, a light open discussion on the challenges, benefits and experience with alignment.

Pawan Benjamin is an accomplished saxophonist and bansuri flute player whom has a deep study of nepali folk and indian classical music. His unique musical background has allowed him to work with a myriad of world-class artists, and perform and teach around the world.
