Jessica LaHood, LCSW

I am a psychotherapist with nearly a decade of experience in the field. My background is in treating adult and child survivors of trauma, as well as those experiencing anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and distress related to life transitions.

My past experience has included work as a trauma therapist at the Safe Horizon Counseling Center, utilizing evidence based treatment modalities to address the impact of trauma. Additionally, as a therapist at the Karen Horney Clinic I trained as a psychodynamic
psychotherapist and learned to supporting development of insight into the ways that adaptations to our past impact our present.

In addition to my psychotherapy background, I draw from training as a yoga instructor at Abhyasa Yoga Center and in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction at Mindful Harlem to support those I work with in reconnecting with their bodies.

I am currently integrating my training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, a body-oriented talk therapy aimed at developing mindfulness of our somatic responses, building internal resources and processing traumatic memory.
